Garth is still on the lookout for a car to replace the much-cherished Saab, and still working full time while trying to complete his thesis. He is enjoying living in West Roxbury, with green growing things, sunlight, and so on. He recently actually took a day off to enjoy his birthday, driving up the coast to Salem and eating at a restaurant overlooking the water.

The completion dates for Garth's dissertation on distributed systems and parallel processing have been thrown into dismal disarray by the desertion of his thesis advisor, who quit Boston University. Needless to say, Garth is somewhat dismayed. Perhaps he will finish in mid-November.
